First of all, I want to say a huge thank you for choosing Ellen’s Dog Grooming to care for your furry family members. It is truly a privilege to spend time with your dogs and help them look and feel their best! I am committed to providing the safest and highest-quality grooming experience possible. To make sure everything runs smoothly during our upcoming appointments, I’ve put together some important information regarding my policies and procedures. Please take a moment to read through these details before your next visit:
🐩 What You Need to Know 🐩
📋 Drop-off: Please arrive no more than 5 minutes before your appointment, as I may have another dog in and don't want to upset either dogs, so please wait in your car or outside the gate to be greeted at the agreed time. Upon arrival, go to the right side of the house and down to the gate.
Late arrivals: If you are more than 15 minutes late for drop-off, I may be unable to complete the groom and only have time for a partial groom, such as a bath and tidy, as it affects the schedule of subsequent clients. If you arrive late, you will still be charged full groom price as that is the time slot originally booked.
📋 Pick-up: please wait by the gate when collecting your dog and do not approach the salon unless mentioned otherwise. Lateness for pick-up will result in an extra charge as this will encroach into the next dog’s appointment. As I work one on one, there isn't much time between dogs, and the other dog’s groom cannot be started until you've collected your dog. In all cases, please let me know so we can discuss our options.
📋 Health & Vaccinations: To keep all our dog’s safe, I require all dogs to have received at least their second vaccinations. This is to ensure all dogs are safe during their appointment.
📋 Flea Policy: If fleas are discovered during the groom, your dog will be given a specific flea-killing wash. A £10 decontamination fee will be applied to your final bill. Future appointments will only be accepted after confirmation that the dog is completely free of fleas.
📋Cancellation Policy: I kindly ask for at least 48 hours’ notice for any changes to your appointment to avoid a fee. Any rearrangements made less than 48 hours before the appointment will result in 50% of the service fee being taken and will require another deposit to rebook a new appointment. As you can understand I am a small business and missing appointments significantly affects my business.
📋 Deposits: After your first appointment, all appointments will require a £20 non-refundable deposit this will be taken off your groom price when collecting your dog. When booking your next appointment, you have 24 hours to pay the deposit which secures your appointment time, otherwise it will remain open for other customers. Bank details are below.
📋 Matted Coat Policy: If minor matting is present, please note it may still be obvious where matting was removed as may be difficult to blend into desired groom. If serious matting occurs, then the dog will be shaved short all over to remove the matting. I will discuss with you on arrival or over the phone if possible that a full shave is needed - I will not leave serious matting on a dog, even if this does not achieve the look you require. This type of matting can expose hidden medical problems which I am not responsible for. An extra charge of £15 will be added to the groom if serious matting is present as it damages my equipment.
📋 Dog behaviour: If your dog is showing aggression or being overly stressed, I will refuse to complete the groom. The dog’s safety, wellness (and mine) is a top priority and I will not put them through something they can’t tolerate. You will still be charged the cost of the full groom.
